furman homecoming 2005

gooooooooooooood times with the sigma nus.

awesome honkey tonk guys... i love homeboy playing the upright bass

leaving the first of many harrassing messages for tim throughout the night... i think tyler looks like a muppet here.

the game... please note the incredible abundance of elon fans across the field. furman was up so much at the end of the 3rd, we retreating for more tailgating.

homeboy sat there for like 20 minutes without noticing that his ass was covered in powdered

tyler, brink and nick, enjoying the wonderful day and a tasty beverage.

us enjoying the crazy fountainy, country club-esque atmosphere of furman.

ATP!

the onslaught of cola visitors continued this weekend... on thursday, i was minding my own business, drinking a rolling rock at home (yum) and watching law & order (shocker). when all of a sudden, my cell phone rings, and an unknown cola-area number appears. the phone call went something like this:

me: hello?
caller: heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy suga!
me: aaron! where are you? how are you doing? aren't you in argentina?
caller: no, biotch, im in columbia, so come over and let's start drinking.

so, to fill some of you in: aaron is my friend, originally from south carolina, now living it up in buenos aires. he popped in town this weekend for a surprise visit, and i immediately went to his old abode (where friends of ours currently reside) and we rocked out until the early hours of the morning. i love aaron so very much, and it's weird not having him here in SC, now that i finally live down here. seeing him this weekend really meant the world to me. i can't wait for him to come back for good in january!

brink, aaron and annie, looking all purdy

blake, aaron and brink, chillin'

annie and jason being all cute and stuff

the drs. k

my parents, the notorious drs. k, recently made their first trip to my new homestate... here's the photographic evidence:

this is me and my dad with our (long lost) cousins eddie and paula in charleston... it was really good to reconnect with them; they are both incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home.

brink and me, re-enacting our "why not weekend" portrait from 2003. we took a very similar photo to this one that weekend, on the battery in charleston. two years later, we were lucky enough to go back and take another.

my parents posing during our walking tour of charleston's beautiful homes. they loved the real estate so much, they're ready to move tomorrow. no, really. they're serious. i love them.

brink and dad posing in the courtyard of a lovely antique shop. aren't they cute?

enjoying the rooftoop bar at the marketplace pavillion hotel. it was nice, but i could have done without the intense gusts of wind.

the drs. k trying not to be blown away on top of the pavillion marketplace. we had a great weekend!

oh harriet...

since i am a total dork, especially in the political sense, i am now totally obsessed with this:

while i'm definitely pleased that the president has tapped a woman to assume o'connor's slot, and she seems like a real "tough cookie," she could definitely use a stylish. okay now i'm just being a bitch.
